Follow the track

Dogs prepared for tracking: following a person's trail from a starting point or an article, including anti-poaching operations, over long and difficult terrain.

No. 01

Mission

The tracking dog follows the trail left by a person: it is given a starting scent, an article or a blood trail, and follows it over distances that people alone would take hours to cover.

  • Tracking a person's trail
  • Start from a known point, an article or a blood trail
  • Anti-poaching: tracking alongside ranger teams
  • Work in the natural environment, by day and by night

Breeds and working profile

Finding a person means covering kilometre after kilometre, in forest as in the bush: endurance comes first. The Saint-Hubert hound (Bloodhound), bred in the Ardennes, remains the historical reference for tracking. For this mission we offer three large, enduring breeds: the Malinois, the Dutch Shepherd and the German Shepherd. Smaller breeds (working cocker, Labrador, springer, Beagle) are reserved for detection; the large, enduring breeds for tracking and search.
